The idea of “being out” pertains not to a quantifiable number of persons aware of one’s queerness, but rather, the idea that one’s own understanding of individual identity is a radical proclamation of truth in and of itself.  As queer people, there is no limit to the number of times one must “come out”, as there is also no amount of “coming outs” that is owed to anyone.  To be out is a declaration of liberation and truth.  This limited capsule, made in collaboration with artist Adam Rolston, reimagines the artist’s work,“I Am Out Therefore I Am“ (1989), in two graphic tees, printed by hand in Brooklyn, NY.
